About
Organised by Student Minds and UMHAN, University Mental Health Day takes place every March to get the nation talking about student wellbeing and working together to make mental health a university-wide priority. No matter who you are, you can take part.
The theme for #UniMentalHealthDay 2026 is human connection.
Research has shown that strong social relationships are integral to us all for enjoying positive mental health. Connection is what makes us human.
We think this feels especially important as a theme in 2026 due to recent political and technological developments, as well as other pressures that might mean we’re spending less time meaningfully connecting with others across our community.
We invite students and universities to interpret this theme in your own ways, and will provide some exciting suggestions to help with your planning in early 2026.
