The Trust Factor: How to evaluate safety and clinical quality in digital student mental health services

Hosted by togetherall

Tuesday 10 March 2026, 13:00-14:00 pm (online)

Today, there’s a growing push to provide a 'whole community' approach to student mental health support – and technology can make that feel more accessible than ever. But convenience can’t come at the expense of quality and safety. When evaluating digital support options, we have to look beyond broad claims and understand what truly constitutes a safe, well-supported environment for students.

That’s why it’s so important to understand what clinical moderation and support actually mean in a digital space. As a profession, we should be encouraging one another to ask the harder questions of any partner—so expectations are clear, accountability is defined, and we can feel confident students will be appropriately supported when it matters most.

In this discussion, we’ll hear from Kristy Robinson, Trustee for UMHAN and Head of Student Support at the University of Westminster, and Dr. Ben Locke, Chief Clinical Officer at Togetherall, on how to approach this topic with partners, which questions to prioritize, and what an acceptable range of responses can look like depending on your needs and context.

As part of the celebrations for #UniMentalHealthDay this event is open to all who are interested.
