This compilation of mental health promotion initiatives was prepared by the Universities UK/GuildHE Committee for the Promotion of Mental Well-being in Higher Education. It aims to be a guide for senior managers in Higher Education in developing policies, procedures and activities promoting mental health.

In 2010, UMHAN prepared a guidance document for the sector, detailing the practical foundations for developing institutional support for students with mental health difficulties. The guidance - targeted at existing services and those wishing to develop such a service - can be downloaded as a PDF document. A 2017 update to this document, detailing supervision recommendations, may be downloaded.

Exams policy position

In 2007, UMHAN developed a policy position based on the collective knowledge and experience of members of the network, with regards to the use of examinations as an assessment method and students with mental health difficulties. The policy paper, which also incorporates practical recommendations, can be downloaded as a PDF.
