Please book a free ticket to attend in person or remotely; if you are attending remotely you will also need to register with Zoom (see below).
Location: University of Bristol - Room S.58, 2nd Floor Hampton House, St Michael's Hill, Bristol, BS6 6AU
Directions: Hampton House is the same building as the Student Health Service, so you will see the NHS signs outside. The building is on St Michael's Hill, opposite the church, 'on' the mini roundabout. If you come through the double glass doors the lifts are straight in front of you or stairs to the left. The room is on the second floor.
To find the room:
As you come out of the lift on the second floor, look towards your right and you will see reception, walk towards reception and turn right, walk for a few steps and you will see the room on your left. If in doubt you can ask reception on the same floor where the room is. If any problems please come to the Student Counselling Service on the third floor in Hampton House.
There are multi-storey car parks about ten minutes' walk from the main campus as shown on the UoB Campus map and key (PDF, 478kB). There is some paid on-road parking nearby. If you are a visitor and you need disabled parking, please contact me:- [email protected]
Please use this link to join us remotely: Register for Zoom meeting
You will be sent details about how to join the meeting on the day after registering, but you will need a webcam, microphone and speakers (e.g. a laptop). You can also use a phone to dial-in for this meeting. You do not need to download any software.
Please spend some time familiarising yourself with the platform - including testing your set up - to get the best out of the meeting.
- If you can, connect to the internet via an ethernet cable. Zoom works well on wireless all the way down to 3G, but the quality is best on a solid wired internet connection, so wire in when you can. Otherwise, just make sure you have serviceable Wi-Fi.
- Close other programmes on your laptop/computer as these can interfere with the connection.
- When you are not speaking mute your mike. There is a small blue toggle mute button in the top right-hand corner of your video window to control this.
