UMHAN
UMHAN is a registered charity governed by our Trustees, who are responsible for the charitiable aspects, and a Committee that is responsible for the strategic planning and development of UMHAN, speaking on behalf of UMHAN and responding outwardly regarding policy and best practice, as well as meeting members' interests.
Our Committee
3 members of the Committee perform the Officer duties of:
Chair, responsible for strategic planning, organisation, and leadership: Lydia Pell
Secretary, ensuring the smooth functioning of the Committee/UMHAN: Dan Doran
Treasurer, responsible for financial accounting: Liz Thackeray
In addition, specific committee roles have been created to ensure leadership, direction, structure, and financial planning for the different activities of UMHAN. These roles are filled as follows:
1) Responsibility for involvement and integration: Lydia Pell and Jo Lester.
Responsible for UMHAN representation with regards to Disabled Students Allowance: Lydia Pell.
2) Responsibility for memberships and member benefits: Dan Doran.
Welcoming team for new UMHAN members: Rebecca Deering and Annie Kemball.
Responsible for compiling/updating member resources: Carole East, Fiona Potter and Lydia Pell.
3) Responsibility for publicity and public relations: Sarah Ashworth.
4) Responsibility for our work in mental health promotion: Sarah Ashworth, Jo Lester, Dan Doran.
Responsible for UMHAN representation on the UUK/Guild HE Working Party on Student Mental Health Promotion:
David Keegan.
5) Responsibility for our work in mental health equality and social inclusion: Dan Doran.
Responsible for UMHAN representation with ECU: Lynne Fisher and Dan Doran.
The activities of the Committee members for each area involve:
Establishing a working group.
Acting in a consultative capacity for other members.
Consulting with the membership to attempt to represent their views elsewhere.
Undertaking specific actions individually on behalf of UMHAN.
